About The Author

I stay at home with my kids. I do this because it makes me happy. Another thing that makes me happy is writing, so I do that too. Currently we have a little boy and a little girl and expect to have another baby in November. We practice our own form of Attachment Parenting, try for Positive Discipline, are currently committed to Homeschooling, and love the concepts of Simplicity Parenting. I think about these things a lot, and so I share what I am thinking. Parenting is the biggest risk game out there, with no guarantees, so expect I might be wrong a lot of the time. But what I am doing is generally right for me and my family...

This blog is about my adventures through the labryinth of parenting, with a healthy dose of food and recipe info. I love and do some work for local farms and I write about that a lot. I like to share recipes - I believe that sharing food with someone is one of the best ways to connect and since that is impractical over the internet, I share my recipes. I am passionate about whole foods, food as medicine, herbalism, and food preservation.

I really love, love, love comments. I love respectful comments and will delete anything mean-spirited. I will do my best to respond to comments you leave here, because it's the beginning of community.

One note on the confidentiality... This is the digital age, and if you really want to know who we are, you can find out. Or you know me in real life already and wonder why I don't disclose our names. It's because the kids haven't (and really can't) give me permission to write about them as much as I do. Keeping their names confidential may not be much, but it's a thin veil of privacy. They are their own people and until they can make the decision about their involvement I plan on keeping their names out of it.

That's it. That's us in a nutshell - lacking many, many of our facets and dimensions. But now you have a bit of an idea...

  1. I found you from twitter.... roundabout, so yes you can find anything on the internet. I feel the same way you do about my kids names. If they want to share later they can. I have 3, and 3 is a SUPER fun number. Best wishes, I will be back to visit. :)
